Spent the majority of the afternoon in Abington park. There was a great atmosphere and quite a lot of people there.
Lots of people out enjoying the sun, the park cafe was bustling and the band were playing on the bandstand. The kids spent the afternoon doing their own thing, hiding in and out of the trees, riding round. We just ambled about occasionally stopping to listen to the band. The ‘mountain’ was out of bounds today though, as it was too wet.
I do like Abington park. A really pleasant afternoon.
We have a great children’s book, its called ‘The story of the Little Mole who knew it was None of his Business‘.
Its about a mole who pokes his head out of the ground one day and gets a poo plopped on his head. The rest of the book tells how he examines different animals’ poo to see who to blame.
In our house, this is known as the ‘poo book’.
A great, but unusual, book.
A friend lent me The Prestige film on DVD this weekend. What a fantastic film! The twists and flashbacks on flashbacks within the plot, and the way the film unfolds are quite (literally) magical.
Really enjoyed this – twice. Second time was even better as you fill in the gaps from the first time round. Looking forward to watching this again too, but first I’ll have to buy it! Might go out and get Christopher Priest’s book too.
